Rick Warren...Not As Liberal As We Thought?

This video is particularly disappointing to me, but of course, this is someone speaking FOR Rick Warren. I was disappointed in what Rick Warren supposedly said about women in ministry, drama in the church, and church discipline as pertaining to Saddleback membership.

Take a look and see what you think.

1. who cares neither of these guys are Apostolics.
2. looks like you have secondary seperation issues.
3. looks like the rest of christiandom has the same issues with fellowship that the Apostolics do.

Great book! I'm a bit surprised and pleased.

I've always admired what he does although I wasn't horribly moved by the church service I attended. Very informational and not at all inspirational. But, that works for some folks.

But I've been disappointed on a couple of strong stands he's taken lately, one being the "women in ministry" stance (which you agree with) and two, his vocal and active role in the California Prop 8 movement (Gay marriage).

But PDL is a GREAT book!

Was that while he was for the bill or against it? He flip-flopped, you know. He was vocally supportive of prop 8, then was quoted as never supporting it and not being for it.

Not a RW fan.

I really don't care if he was for it or against. He was VERY active in supporting it and I didn't care for that. I don't care for it when churches actively oppose or support particular political agendas.

I believe redemption is the solution for homosexuality, not a law against it.

I'm not familiar with his flip-flop on the issue. He as very vocal in his support of Prop 8 and never changed that to my knowledge.

Re: Rick Warren...Not As Liberal As We Thought?

I wouldnt say I am a "fan".

PDL is a good book. I use it because it is good. I dont need to agree with a guy to find something of value in what they teach.

and on women in ministry i am all conflict all the time. Loved Nona Freeman. love several of those ladies that preach.

wouldnt have a woman pastor but I dont think I have an issue with women being pastors...just not mine.

would not have a woman decon. ever. not biblical.
