I know what the other definition of a teabagger is. My point is that I did not use the word in a vulgar way in this thread. That word is often used to describe an obscene act, but another definition of that word is to describe people that are part of the Tea Party. Some words have multiple definitions, which is the case of this word. All definitions of a word are not vulgar just because one is.
If I had made some type of implication that I was referring to the vulgar definition, I could understand the 2 or 3 people getting upset. I did no such thing. I merely understand that many people in the Tea Party movement have brought tea bags (the actual bag of tea, not a vulgar act) to their demonstrations, therefore causing the public at large to refer to them as teabaggers. Really, it is a simple connection. If people want to go straight for the more vulgar definition and bypass the actual definition, I can do nothing about that.
We all know what your point was and your intent. That is beside the point.
As I said before, let's agree to use an acronym like "TPM"

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
Every sinner must repent of their sins.
That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
That's not the problem. Can I use the F word without being vulgar? Yes but it will still sound vulgar to most. At one time the F word was a common term to mean fornication. Same with other words. Can I speak of burning faggots and not offend someone?
faggot
late 13c., "bundle of twigs bound up," from O.Fr. fagot "bundle of sticks," from It. faggotto, dim. of V.L. *facus, from L. fascis "bundle of wood" (see fasces). Especially used for burning heretics (a sense attested from 1550s), so that phrase fire and faggot was used to mean "punishment of a heretic." Heretics who recanted were required to wear an embroidered figure of a faggot on their sleeve, as an emblem and reminder of what they deserved.
Let's come up an an acronym like "TPM" for Tea Party Member? ok?
That is because the F word has not other definition besides fornicating, or as an expletive. That is not the case with teabag, since it can mean the unmentioned vulgar act, an actual bag of tea, or, now, a member of the Tea Party.
As for faggot, that word still has definitions that are not homosexual slurs, so yes, if you used it with the intent of an appropriate definition (a type of meatball, a type of stitch, a type of metalworking, a type of cell), and in the right context, it would be okay.

Okay.
I would like to point out that if they didn't bring tea bags everywhere, this would have never been an issue. I understand the spirit of why they did it, but at least bring cases of tea. They brought this silly nickname on themselves.

No I can't just use the word faggot, you know that! You are totally missing the point. No matter what MY intent that word is going to be offensive to some. That is how it is.
Look I can't even say someone is a jack a$$. That is just how it is. Im suggesting something better before the Admins come in and pull the plug> I thought it would be better this way trying to reason with you

You are correct. In my haste I overlooked that.
I guess teabagger caught on when they started showing up with teabags at capital buildings. I still don't view it as an obscene term in regards to political conversations.
It caught on when Anderson Cooper used the term while reporting on the Tea Party rallies that happend last year I believe on 9/12.
Anderson Cooper is a noted homosexual and he used it as a slight making a joke about these people. His intention was a double entendre and the joke stuck among those who like to make light of the Tea Party movement.
As G. I. Joe says, "Now you know and knowing is half the battle"

I agree with you on Megyn Kelly. I think she is very intelligent, but way too aggressive in a "jerk" kind of way. lol
I only listen to Hannity if I know he will be interviewing someone that I want to listen to. I like O'Reilly pretty well myself. Bad temper, that one. LOL!
I agree with you on Sarah's phraseology and mannerisms. I guess those things are her trademarks which she doesn't want to change.
Greta is by far my favorite. Her approach is vastly more intelegent than Sean and vastly more neuanced than Bill. Sean i rarely watch even though I agree with him a lot. Bill I watch from time to time and enjoy.
I really really like Kudlow on CNBC.

One more point about the Tea Party. As a general rule no one involved with the Tea Party has ever idenified themselves or the Tea Party by the term discussed here.
The only people who have used that term are those who intend to belittle the Tea Party or some who may errantly and ignorantly have assumed that was a correct name based on what they heard from those wanting to belittle the movement.

I had no idea what the T B had reference as I do not listen to slime broadcasts or use offensive language. If one was truly interested in dialog they wouldn't have made an issue of the filthy meaning on the open forum, a simple PM could have explained the term and the controversy would have been avoided as I would not ever use the term again and delete the post. That wasn't done by Adm. or the ones rolling on the floor LOL.
