She is not a recording artist, but a graduate of JCM, the first winner of the TBN singing search, and is well known in the southern Gospel industry. I have other opinions in this regard, but will only focus on the positives of the event. The positives outweighed the negatives by far.
I was glad to hear that the hotel wrote off the remaining balance too! Especially for JB!

You know.....I was curious about Karen Harding too. I didn't know who she was and asked someone at the reunion. When they told me it was her, I was so excited because I thought finally I would get to hear her sing - I'd heard so much about her. I don't know if it was just an oversight or what. Probably was nothing personal, but I would have loved to have heard her!!
As for Reba, that was the one part of the reunion I thought was ridiculous. Sorry - I know she affected a lot of lives musically in that era (well, actually her mom did), but I couldn't figure out why in the world she was singing at a JCM event.
But that one thing sure didn't ruin the weekend for me! I had a great time, reconnecting with old friends. The love we felt this time from some of our UPC brothers/sisters was overwhelming. They were truly glad to see us and catch up on life and ministry, and vice-versa.
I think the more conservative people are realizing that some of us really do want that connection to our background. We don't resent it or look down on it - we loved that time of our lives!! If someone leaves UPC and has a haughty, prideful attitude, then they are WRONG. God help me to never feel that way!

This is why we are a part of Love & Truth Ministries - what an example to follow. Love my Pastor's wife (and Pastor!)

Yes, I'm still unsure why Reba was allowed to sing and I intend to ask that question.
As for Karen Harding, no one knew she was coming. This morning I checked the last list of registerants and her name was not on there. So, as far as planning no one knew she was going to be attending.

Wow Ron, not sure why you felt led to post that scripture. I'm most certain on any given day at most churches we could apply that scripture.
Matter of fact, there have been several churches that I've attended that I've known someone on the platform that your scripture would apply to. However, because of who they are or who they know it's brushed under the rug.
Still folks - - this was NOT a church function.

again........I've seen views expressed not so nicely from the other camp too.
It never makes a christian look christian, to talk hatefully to one another.
anyway, just my own 2 cents thrown in.

No one is in trouble or banned, so all views are allowed.
St. Mark is just trying to stir up strife....isn't there a scripture about that?
Just as Rev's views are being allowed so are the ones that oppose to his view. It's how the forum works.

HELLO!!!!!
Yes, I was a little shocked on several levels.
I looked terrible - hopefully, nothing like any pic you have seen on the forum, yet you still recognized me.
So glad you did though and introduced yourself. Then to see you again on Sat. at the Mills and get to meet some of your family.....too cool!
I'm sure I shocked your son talking about the Holy Ghost - ha!

As you were probably a little shocked, but not really surprised if you got to thinking about it--when I told you who my father-in-law is.

Re: JCM Reunion / AMC Conference Check In Thread
Ok!! Not that I need to stand up for my husband REVRANDY...He can stands his ground very well.. I do have to agree with REV.... He is NOT a HATER......he cares for the lowest of sinners and has shown compassion upon them....
To me, it is amazing the spirit that comes out in each one of you bashing Rev or those who disagree with the way that some of you have gone..... Are you trying to justify the choices that you have made on this path by showing such hate????
I for one do not believe that the UPC is going to save anybody.... it is the relationship that you have with God, it is baptism in JESUS name, and it is living an overcoming life that will save you... Can the hate that some of you have towards the UPC and those that follow the UPC keep you from making heaven your eternal home.
I know that some have been hurt by the UPC by some form or fashion, but the indignation that is felt from this thread from a few posters is unbelievable.....
