Thank God...
I work at a high school as a parapro in a behavior-problem classroom. On March 30th, I was the assistant assigned to ride the bus home with the students. As usual, I sat toward the back of the bus so I could keep an eye on all of the students. About 30 minutes into the ride, I happened to look up and noticed that the bus driver was slumped over (had fallen asleep) at the wheel, had crossed onto the wrong side of the road, and was veering straight for another school bus head-on at about 50 mph! Screaming, I ran up the aisle, and the bus driver woke up at the last possible second and swerved out of the way of the other bus, barely averting disaster.
Less than a week later, April 5th (the day after Easter), my daughter was the passenger in a vehicle that was involved in a head-on collision. Both cars were absolutely demolished. Although my daughter received a broken wrist, sprained ankle, cuts and bruises, she is otherwise miraculously fine.
I hope nobody minds that I openly give thanks to GOD for His protection these past couple of weeks. Also, I seek His continued healing on behalf of the other two passengers (who are going to be all right but whose injuries were a little more serious). Also, I seek His peace of mind for myself to sleep through the night without startling awake with the thoughts and dreams that plague my mind of the school bus heading straight at us and of my daughters twisted pile of wreckage that used to be a car.
Thank you Jesus, my Lord, for allowing us another day. May we ever remain your servants.
