Re: Worse Than Tiger Woods
4 - 6 month suspension, with a chance at less if certain requirements are met, per ESPN.

Isn't it 4-6 game suspension? I can't believe they're able to do this when he has never been arrested nor paid a single penny in judgments. He probably deserves it, but can they prove it? Wow.

Yeah, it will probably be a 4 game suspension, not a 4 month suspension.
They can do this if someone keeps screwing up. The NFL is a brand and it is Goodell's job to protect the brand. Same way it is at any number of jobs. You keep screwing up, you get punished.

... wups yah, I meant 4-6 GAME suspension. From the article it sounds similar to Michael Vicks conditional suspension where he'll have to meet with NFL people or go through some kind of treatment and if that's done the suspension will be lessened. Most think it'll end up being just a couple games.
As Goodell stated, their player policy doesn't need proof, charges, convictions, etc. They're expected to follow certain standards.
I like it. I'm glad Goodell and the NFL have expectations and standards for players to follow.

Yeah, I'm not saying I disagree with it, it's just that the entire basis of this suspension is the word of one person. I just wouldn't want to have my life judged by one person's opinion of me.
Remember the Mike Tyson conviction for rape? He served 5 years in prison based on the testimony of one person. There was zero corroborating evidence. Did he do it? I'd be about 95% sure he did, based on what I know.
I just hate to see judgment handed to a person when the basis of that judgment is "We're pretty sure he did this."
But either way, Big Ben needs to stay at home at night for a while!

Not quite true, this is the second instance of this within 2 years. Coupled with his motorcycle accident involving him not wearing a helmet from 2006, he has shown some poor judgement. How many goof-ups do you allow before you finally step in?

Second, Ben is not married. He is single.
Now, where you and I agree is that he is a dirtbag for having sex in night clubs with drunk chicks. period. end of discussion.
But in all the cases that Goodell has taken action, there has been at the very least an indictmentn.

Glad I got that straight in my mind. It's proper to assult women if you aren't married. Now I feel a whole lot better!!

The part I liked the best was that she said she was too drunk to realize what he was doing. I'm sorry but unless you are passed out drunk you definetely realize what is happening around you and to you...

But in this case, it's the word of one person. The word of the other person didn't get him suspended. And clearly, this incident in Georgia would have been a money-grubber looking to take advantage of the first incident that took place.

The suspension isn't because of just this one case. It is because of this case, the other case, and the poor judgement in regards to the motorcycle accident.
