Re: Women's strange choice about her body.....
After gaining 80 pounds during pregnancy on my tiny 5'2 115 pound body, a terrible last trimester, pushing out a 9 1/2 pound baby naturally, my feet swelling so bad that even 3 years later I wear 1 shoe size bigger- I can't say that I blame this woman! The extra pounds have come off over the years, but I am absolutely traumatized by the thought of having to go through that again.
Then I look at my wonderful little man and know that it was all worth it, 9 months of pure hell for a lifetime of joy!

What if Jesus had said, "I don't do scars! I don't want to do that to my body!

So what do you all think about this? Is she crazy for saying this? Does she have a good point about not wanting to do that to her body? Is her point of view really weird? What say ye all?

How about adopting for the betterment of a child and not for the selfish reason of protecting your money figure? The child will look back 20 years from these comments and say that you adopted me because you wanted your glorious body to look good. She needs to balance the story with the desire to raise a child that was saved...

I agree with this. Motive is what matters here. Does she want to help a child? (noble) Does she just want to look 25 forever? (Not so noble)
I can understand not wanting to have a child for health reasons, but what about feeling a child in your womb and having bone of your bone and flesh of your flesh?

You can understand I don't want to experience it! lol! I am a man, but a woman should have that natural desire, right?

Well....people are different from each other. I had that natural desire and I think most women do, but maybe some just don't. I'm not sure that's bad. Maybe she really just has a heart to adopt. Or maybe she's vain. If it's vanity, it seems completely shallow to me.

Right--even though she mentioned "rescuing" a child--it still sounded all about her. She does come off as selfish.
Of course, having a child to take care of can remove some of that self-centeredness.

Re: Women's strange choice about her body.....
God created women to have children. What it does to your body is the results of creating another human being and can't be helped.
Her views are hers - - a little self-centered, however, as others have said I'd rather hear her say she's going to adopt than to know she would abort a child.
For me, thinking about what it would do to my body wasn't even in the equation.

Re: Women's strange choice about her body.....
Pregnancy and child birth do quite a lot to a woman's body. I've been told that during labor a woman has never been closer to death. I think this might be scary for some women. Not to mention the hormonal ups and downs, gained weight, soreness, sickness, and possible complications that could threaten life and health. While the vast majority navigate these waters without any long lasting harm, a few women do have terrible pregnancies and complicated labors that leave them in serious condition. For some women the possiblity of going through something like that might be terrifying, even if it's only a 2% chance.
I don't know. I don't want to criticize her too much without knowing the specifics of exactly what she's thinking.

True.
If men had to go through pregnancy, labor, and delivery they would have figured out another system by now.
