Women's strange choice about her body.....
This is not an abortion thread. The article quotes (and gives the source Jeffrey) Jillian Michael's of the Biggest Loser. She was quoted in Women's Health magazine as saying, "I'm going to adopt. I can't handle doing that to my body," Michaels told the magazine. "Also, when you rescue something, it's like rescuing a part of yourself."
So what do you all think about this? Is she crazy for saying this? Does she have a good point about not wanting to do that to her body? Is her point of view really weird? What say ye all?

Are you sure you didn't plagarise the bolded comment? (Because I can't imagine you were the original and first writer of those words or that concept... so who did ya still it from?)

I didn't steal it cause I changed some of the wording to make it my own.

Re: Debate about a Women's body being her choice
I guess I'm not understanding the dilemma--if someone wants to adopt a child instead of going through pregnancy or childbirth, I understand that.
It's definitely a woman's choice, whether she has children or not. How could it be anyone else's choice?

Not that it could be anyone elses choice but more to look at the thought of not having a child for body issues.

Personally, I think the woman in question sounds fairly self-centered--even her comment about adopting seems more about her than the child. She made it sound like adopting is equivalent to rescuing a puppy.
However, in general, I don't see any problem with a woman choosing to adopt because of a fear of childbirth or even a fear of permanent scars and bulges, among other things.

Re: Women's strange choice about her body.....
I agree. I think that it somewhat strange. By that I mean something that I wouldn't say is too common. I think that being self-centered for health reasons is not a bad deal, but most self-centered people aren't married or at least married too long, IMO. So having kids might not be the best for them.

Re: Women's strange choice about her body.....
I can handle THAT "choice" much better than the "choice" that kills a baby.

Re: Women's strange choice about her body.....
I guess I don't think pregnancy did horrible things to my body. Sure, I have additional stretch marks, and um, my abdominal muscles aren't what they once were, but as long as I'm properly covered, I don't look any different than I did before.
Definitely her choice, but I couldn't imagine giving up the experience.
