This did not happen at the A.H church, but somewhere else in Michigan. For whatever reason, the A.H church seems to have been labeled as "liberal", even though according to Barb (a poster on AFF and an antendee of A.H) said her Pastor is still UPCi.
So, these "liberation" servcies are happening in Michigan. I'm still trying to find out where.

If this did happen ... it's shameful and theatrical ....

Believe it don't believe it, Dan...that is your right.
I am there, and I do not see it or believe it.
And just what is "going Charismatic?" That expression is used much by the conservative folks and I detest it! I realize they mean that one has left 'standards', but it a stupid expression nonetheless.
When my mother and I met with Bro. W prior to changing membership, many things were discussed, including this topic, and we STILL moved.
Hope that answers...
Bro. Steve Warman is one of the finest young preachers I know. He preaches and teaches the Word.
If you have any further inquiry into his beliefs, here is the church number...

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/charismatic
–adjective
1. of, having, or characteristic of charisma.
2. characterizing Christians of various denominations who seek an ecstatic religious experience, sometimes including speaking in tongues and instantaneous healing.
–noun
3. a Christian who emphasizes such a religious experience.
What I don't see is:
4. A once conservative church with Holiness Standards, now backsliden in to a devil's hell due to pants on women and women with cut hair.

Of course, according to this statement, all Apostolics have "gone Charismatic."

Common usage determines how a word is reported in a dictionary. The fact of the matter is: Our debates over "going Charismatic" and such affect such a tiny number of people that the terms of our debates seldom if ever come up in general reference works.
That's the cost of being irrelevant.

hmmm... I'm not sure, if I have a choice between the two, which I'd rather be...

Re: Join: Liberation Services & Hair Cutting Parti
I think that if there is a hair cutting party per se that is going on I would think that doing it in a church setting would be distastful and horrible. Personal convictions aside. If there is going to be a party do it at a salon or someones home where it is more intimate and so those that might be offended won't be. I think that they are goofy altogether but whatever.

From my perspective: the "going charismatic" charge is hype and always involves gross exaggerations and even many false accusation. Just look at the Facebook site that DAII uncovered and shared in the opening post of this thread.
Thus, if "going charismatic" isn't what its detractors say it really is - then perhaps the dilemma you have humorously posed isn't truly a dilemma at all.
What if we just "went Biblical" and dropped all of the man-made "revelations" that we have attached to our religious experience? I think that would would makes us all "relevant" in the most compelling way of all.
