Officers and gifts are one thing; having a "church" of 7 or 8 people who are all "Apostle," "Prophet" or whatever is another. It really does seem to reveal an overt need for status and acceptance - but they go about it in such a way that their whole org. looses status and acceptance in the community right off the bat.
I think it's better to just "be cool" and magnify God and His offices and gifts. The rest will sort of shake out over time.
