You are a women after your name sake. Here is the deal, you have a relationship with God, so did the diciples, they even did mericles during Christ minsitry. What they did not have was the power promised of God.
Act 1:4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
Act 1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
This baptism is far greater than anything you have experianced I comes with tongues. The reason for this is that the tongue is the only member of our body that we cannot tame.
Jas 3:8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
Jas 3:9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
Jas 3:10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
When we let God control the most inner part of our life he takes our tongue to show us and speaks a new language through us. This is a gift but sometimes we have to wait for it. Trust me it will come as you prepare yourself for this great gift simply praise God for the things he has done for you and worship. My wife had just come to church when she was 19, and repented. That week she knelt down to pray before bed and she began to speak in tongues. Needles to say she did not know what it was at first. Every one gets it differant, but I have found the best way is to just worship and praise God for it and it will come.
