My wife calls them my toys. If I go to Apple Store and come in with something she asks where did you get that? How much did it cost?
But, if I use one of the gift cards given to me by my kids she never says anything. She asks, I respond I got it with a gift card. She says nothing.
Now I'm going to Apple and buying myself gift cards. When she ask about a purchase I've made I just say, "Oh, I got it with a gift card!"
I figured some things out over the past 48 years.
