Saints (not preachers) in my church lay hands on people all the time and they receive the Holy Ghost. They don't GIVE it, God gives it, but they are the ones that do the laying on of hands.
They also don't scream, spit, push, pull, slap under the chin, coach them to say something over and over and over, or have to pray with people for hours in order for them to receive it. Average time of receipt is less than 10 minutes. Often alot less.
This is the NORM at my church. Not sure what or where you are talking about.
So...just what is it that are you griping about again?
