We have always made the will of God a priority in our lives.
I believe that it was necessary for us to leave NB and come to BC so that we could be away from both UPC influences and the influence of friends who had left the UPC. As a result we have been able to gain a new perspective on events that have happened in our lives during the past 10 years. I won't bore you with details unless there are those who are interested in hearing more of how God has led us in regard to all of this.
I will say that our passion is missions and in particular a love for and desire to reach the Chinese with the gospel. I have set up a ministry that has great potential in China. We do not know what the future holds in regards to this ministry. However, I do know that if I had the means to do so, and God directed me to do so, I would love to give full attention to New Direction China Ministries.
We have in the past few months seen several college students come to Jesus Christ in China. I have a vision for establishing a network of housechurch fellowships in China and believe God will make the resources available to see that vision fulfilled.
For the present we have a great challenge to pastor a church that has great potential, but needs to overcome some obstacles to realize that potential. I invite you to pray for me as I spend time right now in prayer and fasting for a fresh word from God for Peoples Church.

Hon, you're missing the point...God love ya, things are not always about you.
No one is lashing you for asking.
TB and Felicity posted from the heart. Elder E's thinking is that ALL of us, not just you, should pray for them and see how God works things according to His will.
Pressing for answers to which there may not be questions at this juncture is useless, but no one is beating you up.
You take too much on yourself, Thad...it's really no biggie...

LOL! Thad you are too funny sometimes. Don't worry about it. Bro. Epley gave some good free advice. I've found that his advice is usually excellent so it's always good to pay attention. The man has learned a few things through living and experience. We'd all do well to pay attention.
I don't mind answering questions normally if I feel they're sincere and not asked out of some kind of animosity, agenda or malice. I talk about what I feel comfortable talking about and won't talk about what I don't feel comfortable with or about. Simple as that.

Felicity, we had a Chinese man preach at Christ Church this past Sunday using an interpretor. He told about being thrown in prison for preaching the gospel in China. He told a remarkable story about his time in prison.
He would not give the authorities the names of other preachers, converts, etc. He decided to fast. He was down to 90 lbs, when he said the Lord spoke to him and gave him a vision of him speaking to thousands of believers all over the world. He said the Lord told him that he was to live, so he could help spread the gospel.
He won many prisoners to the Lord while there. They didn't have water available to baptize his converts, so he took his rationed drinking water and baptised them as best as he could!
I left believing that the Chinese church seems to be in good hands!

That's awesome! TB and I have met men with similar testimonies. There are so many who have given so much and we have given so little in comparison.
Do you remember his name?
