If you ask just anyone there they will no doubt give the canned response "We will leave when God directs us to" and since God always talks through the mouth of the pastor..... well, lets just say that it will be a VERY long time before God tells anyone to leave.
I just want to know what the UPC guys on here think about all this! He lied and continues to lie according to what I just read and the GA District Superintendent stood with him. A judge and jury spoke loud and simple - He LIED and it cost sombody $500,000.
In UPC of Georgia - they have rules against wearing Mickey Mouse Watches, Ball caps with a "B" for the Braves, split skirts of any kind, any kind of ring including wedding rings, lip gloss - I AM NOT KIDDING! I was there when they passed it! They have a Mustache & split skirt committee.
21 stupid rules and some of them simply racist! But - FOGERTY can lie in the pulpit and in the open court on a Bible and that is OK????????

True and the main reason I left - the blatant double standard. Many preach one thing and live another.

You appear to be seeking a level of accountability that many of these same guys have spent their careers avoiding.
The "defense" presented in this case was simply incompetent. It's just more of the same angry "we're being persecuted" passive/aggressive nonsense over and over.
I learned to handle these guys the first time I stood up to a bully on the playground. After taking several punches to the face I squared my shoulders, took a deep breath and laid into the guy. He immediately went crying to the teacher. These "Underwear Police" and their gestapo tactics are no different. Just stand up to them and they'll buckle in fear.
Most of them know they don't have Truth on their side. Those that aren't aware of this fact will soon be made painfully aware. For too long we've allowed small men with small minds to force their tiny myopic vision of a small god upon us. It's way past time that the Oneness people wised up and demanded better from their "leaders."
