Pel,
It appeared to me that he spoke on what he thought were sexual sins and said she committed ONE of those.
One thing I do agree with everyone on - we need to be very careful how we address any type of sin over the pulpit. If it is done in love, that is a different story. On another token, a person who is engaging in sin and doesn't want to let go is going to be offended and it wouldn't matter how much you loved them or how careful you were in the handling.

My point all along is that there was no need to justify the pending romance of the preacher's daughter and the divorced man. The problem is that we have a culture that is built upon SELF justification AND NOT the free and gracious justification that is available through Jesus Christ. By all accounts the "divorced man" was a "victim of divorce!" The manual already handles that. Let it be!
Someone here has gotten the Gospel wrong and it has cost us over $500,000. How much has this bad theology cost us over the course of the last 65 years?

You don't know if that was what he was doing and neither do I. Again, he should have been more careful, but we don't really know the whole story. Everything is simply speculation.
