Does Seminary matter at all?
If it doen't, what's the point? Why go at all? If it does, why?
Would an educator be held to a higher standard? Would his own educational history be important? If not, why is it often listed immediately in a person's bio? Do other's think it's important?
If I was a theologian, what has more credibility: Mickey Mouse University or Yale Divinity School? Why do you think so? Just brand?
As in the case of LS (and other names that came up in that thread), there is a similarity in the educational ranks that we hope to see broken. Why are so many ministers rushing to get degrees added to their name, but few doing it, though capable, through institutions of academic rigor? Why is this a problem? What does it say?
