In Corinth, there was blatant flaunting of social statuses, women who flaunted false-beauty, making their lower-class brothers/sisters feel inferior. Corinth had this (of many) heart issues.
Paul corrected it, teaching what true beauty is and where it comes from, and where it doesn't come from. The specific instruction was for this specific situation, the principle is timeless.
