What about cigarette's/marajuana [sp]? Does Rom. 14 also apply here as well?

Hello Bruce & Don...still monitoring eh'?!
Well, if you were to appear topless it would probably be a violation of local laws so I would not recommend that.

Shorts and tank top? in my opinion that would be up to you and how you feel about it.

cigarettes? in my opinion that would be up to you and your convictions.

marijuana? again, local laws against that.

I do believe Christians should obey local laws unless the local laws violate a higher law.

Should we just be silent about it because they don't wanna' believe what the Bible instructs?

God told Ezekiel [paraphrased]: "whether they hear or forbear, speak all the words which I put in your heart."
No don't be silent, but you can't be prideful either but you believe you know more than others. You will not win many that way

Many have testified the same thing and God took them right to the verses found in 1 Peter and I timothy. People would have you believe that its just a personal conviction and some people have no problem with it. While this may sound good on the surface, Paul and Peter both contrast the idea of adorning the outside vs. adorning the inside.

If everyone would do a study on how the early church lived, it would put us all the shame while a lot of us want to hold us to our excessiveness while trying to please God. It just doesn't work. I know that to be a fact. We must seek His will and especially when it comes to how we appear and the spirit behind why we are appearing the way we appear.

I think one issue is how the "we appear" standards is presented. Many are counterproductive in the manner they present it.

And the difference is that he based his arguments off of his imagination....kinda' like you do when it comes to "not with gold jewewlry, pearls, or costly apparell." Obviously, those words are too complicated for you to understand. ......Man, you're tooooo easy!

Only because I believe your right and like Stephen when he debated against those who were stoning him, he had the face of an angel. Ridiculing back does not prove the case.
