It is as simple as wanting to know where the money is coming from to fund the mosque. When asked if the funds were coming from Iran, the answer was, "No comment." If coming from Saudi Arabia, they are they largest proponents of Sharia Law. If this was not of such a concern, Oklahoma and Louisiana would not be working on bills to insure that Sharia would not come in and try to usurp our Constitution.
So, if we find that a place is being funded by a terrorist country, I think it is logical that the place should not be built.
Thus far, you and others are pushing this thing to be built and you don't seem to be particularly concerned where the money is coming from. If coming from Iran or Saudi Arabia, it is as we said, a building of provocation.
Is that the kind of freedom that you want - anything goes, even the plans to destroy our country? Again, our freedom is based on accountability.
You have a right to bear arms. If you use those arms to commit a heinous crime, such as murder, your rights are taken away. Freedom comes with a price.
We simply do not want a mosque built in a place that is part of Ground Zero (discussed plane wreckage on another thread) and we do not want it built by a man that is not truthful in what he is about. You can say that Bush supported him as an emissary to the Muslim world, but we are just getting a handle on what Sharia Law is capable of and the direction it is taking. And we know that Rauf is a supporter of Sharia Law.
