Those kids were horrible and what's even worse is that they grow up to be nasty adults and that kind of behavior often still continues and it's passed on from generation to generation.
No wonder you're still haunted by it occasionally. I can understand why.

I went hunting with the Skinner ONE time and VOWED to NEVER go again. We had to cross 3 barbed wired fences, walk up a really high "holler", almost got sprayed by a FAMILY of SKUNKS, mo joke. A Moma and her babies, didn't stay to count how many babies she had, though,. I had scratches on my....well, we won't go there, but it was bad and by the time we got back to the truck, the dog we had was sitting in the truck, behind the steering wheel, and evidentally he ran into the family of skunks, at least he smelled like he had been sprayed by ALL of them. It was halarious!!!! I was so mad at John for getting us "lost" and then we see that stupid dog sitting behind the wheel in Donnies truck.
Needless to say, I rode home in the back of the pickup. The dog got left so the smell could wear off for a while.
