When John Kennedy got killed, a popular preacher got up and apologized to everyone and said, "Well, there went my 5th anti-christ."

When will they ever learn?

Old Milller, Darby and McDonald got all this garbage started back beginning around 1830 and later. People been specualting ever since.

There are a lot of shysters out their for the money. I do NOT believe Bro. Baxter is one of them.

I truly believe his goal is to reach the world with the truth. I have heard of many testamonies of people coming to the truth via his ministry.

We may not all agree with his assessment of prophecy but all you casting stones I would like you to tell me where he is wrong and how you KNOW he is wrong. You know kind of put up or shut up, is the way kids used to say it.

The areas I'm not sure he is right on I can't PROVE he is wrong, just my OPINION is that I don't see it that way.

But since some of you have indicated you KNOW he is wrong, I would love to hear where and how you KNOW he is wrong.

Thanks.

Esther,

He is wrong because he keeps prophesying (predicting) things that never come to pass. I used to keep the articles where he is wrong. I don't do it anymore but I did keep the big one about the Jerusalem Conference and what it would lead to within 3.5 years and the subsequent rapture in 2000. His prophesies proved to be WRONG, Esther.

As far as winning souls...the END does not justify the MEANS. God does not need to lean on DRAMA or unfounded SENSATIONALISM for the sake of souls. He only needs faithful men who will remain faithful to the Word by not playing fast and loose with it.

Esther, I wish that you could see this.

I have heard him for years and read a lot of his material. I have most of his magazines but am not current in reading all of them.

However, in MY experience I have never heard him say it WOULD be so and so but it APPEARS as though it could go in this direction. I have never heard him predict an AntiChrist but some he thought COULD fall into that catergory and he always listed more than one.

I agree the means doesn't justify the ending. But in this case I haven't seen anything he has done that would fall into that arena.

I think part of this is you have a different take on prophecy. You take MAY be right I don't know as I don't know what you believe in regards to prophecy.

And I guess that is my beef with this thread. MANY have said how wrong he is but not one has said where he was wrong and what the correct answer is.

JMO

I still appreicate you brother, but on this we seen to disagree, but cordially.

Esther,

I suppose I will have to dig out that old 1992 Entime magazine which I kept to scan it and then post it here for your benefit. That's a lot of work and I am kind of lazy sometimes...

In that old magazine he prophesied (predicted) that if the Jerusalem Covenant was ratified by both Israel and the Palestenians in 1993 that would commence the countdown to the rapture in 2000 and the appearing of the Anti-christ 3.5 years. As you know by NOW, none of it happened. Now, he is up to his same ol' sensationalism again with these off-the-wall prophecies. All of that while extensively using the Word of God to bolster his perverted views of the endtime. Such use of the Word of God is inflicting great violence upon it. This, for the sake of his own theological, money grubbing kingdom? Esther dear, why would you come to the defense of such tripe?

Hal Lindsay made a jillion $$$$ with his "Late Great Planet Earth" book. It was sensational but has proven to be mostly false. He showed the way for Tim LaHaye and many other hucksters to knock down a ton of money. He's going in the same path and doing a pretty good job of it too. Too bad.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

ROFLMBO!!!! So true (even if from two years ago). I think time is better spent on being ready and living out a Christian lifestyle than trying to figure out conclusively the books of Daniel and Revelation.

I run as far as I can from folks who claim they have it all figured out. I appreciate the preachers, teachers, and scholars who present thoughts in the context of it being a theory, that no one knows for sure.

At 51 years of age and having been Pentecostal all of my life I have witnessed many prophecy preachers having to eat crow over declarations that did not come to pass.

3. 2008 is the year for a middle east peace treaty between Israel and the Palestinians which is internatinally recognized and will determine the final borders of Israel, the status of Jerusalem and the status of the temple mount.

Rev. Irving Baxter believes that, if this peace treaty is reached, it will be the confirmation of the covenant and mark the beginning of the final seven years to Armageddon and the second return of Christ.

4. 2008 could also be the year of a war emanating from Iraq that kills one third of mankind.

What are your comments concerning the fulfillment of these prophecies?
When will people ever learn? I am waiting for the 2011 crowd to fold as well as the 2012 gainsayers..set all the dates you want..I believe Matthew 24 has been fulfilled..
