"For I know my God saved the day
And I know His Word never fails
And I know my God made a way for me
It's gonna be alright."
Oh my goodness. Explosive.
So anyway, on my way home I had this funny thought.
I've been involved in a few spats this week here in the forum. And really, they're all kinda silly. I've posted a few opinions about the mosque, and had my Christianity questioned. I posted that I haven't spoken in tongues and was told I'm not born again. Just a few minutes ago I was told I'm making false accusations and I have no idea what that one is about. I was told by a friend that my kind of church doesn't teach repentance, doesn't teach the bible, and doesn't ask for commitment.
So I was driving home, thinking about all I've heard this week, all the angry words that fly around on the forum and and then thought about the Church Gathering experience I'd just had.
It was just a funny moment. I'm sure glad I have amazing church experiences once a week. Without it, I don't think I could survive some of you Christians!

That is awesome. The opinions on here are just that, opinions. At the end of the day, hold fast to your beliefs and remain positive.
Great to hear of the uplifting service you had. Sounds like you needed it. Outstanding.

Oh, I always need it, and don't worry, the bickering and verbal slashing doesn't faze me. It's funny more than anything. I just had that funny thought on the way home and the difference between what I experienced at church and the tone I see here. It's a galaxy apart.

Indeed. There are so many arguments on here, so many debates over every single scripture, that sometimes we think debating is all people do. Then we actual go out into our real lives, and this stuff rarely gets brought up. Even when it does, it is talked about in far calmer terms.
That is the great thing about forums, however, and the internet in general. You can act out in ways that you would never act out in real life.
In spite of saying that, however, I think we can all agree that our lives would have been far less boring without AFF, lol. My workdays, at least.

There is NO DOUBT my interaction here on the internet is worlds apart from the way my real-life interaction is. My feelings I post are real, but the way I snap back at people....I would never do that in front of someone. Well, there's a couple I might take a swing at!

there can be some pretty strong arguments and bickering on facebook also. I got into trouble with some folks because I used the term "triune" with God.

A few songs come to mind, such as, "Down From His Glory", and "He Looked Beyond My Faults." I know that older songs such as, "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God", if I'm not mistaken, are old saloon songs from the 1800's.
But just doing straight-up secular music in church that would be played on our pop or rock or country radio stations, I suppose I would have this question: Those of you that oppose the playing of these songs in church, do you ever listen to them outside the walls of the church? Maybe in your car, home, etc? I would enjoy hearing the answer to that question.
