(fill in the blanks with anything you consider sinful)

_________ (noun) is a sin.

If you participate in __________ (noun) you are disobeying God's word.

If you continue _____________ (verb) you will sever right relationship with God.

Those who ________ (verb) and refuse to repent will go to Hell.
Wasn't sin taken care of 2000 years ago?

Heb 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

Honestly, after reading many of these threads I wonder what Jesus actually accomplished 2000 years ago. Seems like it was very very little.

His accomplishments were great... but not universal.

Christ died for all, not some. The cross alone does not save yet NO ONE is saved without it. Belief is required for salvation and without belief we are already condemned (John 3:18). The point is that the cross unlocked the doorway to salvation but it does not guarantee that everyman will walk through that door. For these reasons the cross and Christ's accomplishments are universal and we can still say that all are not saved.

I heard it said one time that the key to recognizing counterfeit money is not in studying the counterfeit. It's in knowing the original well.

Teach on the nature of God and how it applies to our lives.
Teach on the beauty and wisdom of God's Holy way.
Give examples of how following our own nature is failed wisdom and eventually leads us to destruction.

A people who follow God because they believe that His way is the wise and Holy way of an all knowing God are preferred, IMO, to a group who follow God because God's gonna get'em if they don't.

I've never been changed by a sermon that railed on for an hour about how evil this or that is.

Now... there are certainly times when people are rebelliously coming against clear teaching of God's word and the Bible spells out specif steps to deal with that and they should be followed. After all... it's all God's word.

When was the last time you heard, "We've to 62 visitors today" in your church? I get pretty excited when I hear that.

Re: Whatever Happened to Sin?

As per my previous scripture post. We are to preach the word, not some or part. Preaching should be well rounded
