Re: An Abomination
Actually, this message is one of the reasons that so many saints are questioning the validity of pastor's edicts on standards - and now such questing is being extended to include most everything pastors preach.
If this is an example of the quality of any man's teaching and his expressed lack of knowledge of scriptural interpretation and application, it is a true wonder that such a preacher has any members at all in 'his' church.

Re: An Abomination
The man who sent it to me is not a senior pastor, he is a leader/pastor of a small group in an Apostolic church in a nearby city.
Also, it is TIC
He does not really believe that way.
He mentioned it to me on the phone and I asked him to email it to me so I could post it here.

Re: An Abomination
You should create a group on facebook with this as your core message. Would be great to see what kind of response you get.

Re: An Abomination
Great post, Hash. Questions are okay until you question the answer. Then when there is no genuine biblical basis for a "standard" it turns into "do as I say or you are in rebellion."

Doh!
I believed it. Sorry, I've heard so much looniness that when I hear or read something so crazy from OP's my first inclination is to believe it rather than reject it.

Well, it was so believable as good "holiness" or "standards" preaching that I just HAD to post it.

Re: An Abomination
TIC, sarcasm, a fun parody........whatever___________
There's still too much truth in it to totally ignore.

Re: An Abomination
I agree with Jason & Commonsense - the outrageous seems to have become commonplace, and I also bit. Even so, that revealed something about my own attitude!

I have heard of some churches that actually do preach against neckties as being "male necklaces".
