are you thankful?
A little lady came to my house today. She needed some work to buy rice for her family. I PROMISED HER I would help her and she has worked and worked and worked today! What a blessing since it is just a few days until our son gets married.
We have been cleaning and painting the church and fellowship hall. I was so touched at lunch I sat down to eat and she walked in with my daughter in law. I told them to get a plate of lunch for them. She filled her plate with rice and beans and walked outside she was too timid to sit with me. My daughter in law went to sit with her. I WALKED OUTSIDE TO THE TABLE where she was eating and put my arms around her and told her she could always sit with me.
I LIVE IN A NICE HOME TODAY I TOLD HER BUT IT WAS NOT ALWAYS SO AND TOLD HER ABOUT LIVING IN HOUSES THAT HAD NO WATER AND WASING CLOTHES IN THE CREEKS and that my home now was given to me by a kind American.
She looked into my eyes AND SAID…WHAT A BLESSING…after I went back to work she told my daughter in law…wow just think , I will get to go to the store and buy groceries…
She was so thankful for a little money to buy a little bag of rice, perhaps a pound of beans and a few pieces of bread….she mumbled over and over thank God for the missionary….
