Not a chance that Randy Keyes will join the WPF....he is UPC to the core.

And therein lies the problem. It's not, "Jesus to the core", not "Grace to the core", not "Love to the core", not "The cross of Christ to the core", but it's "UPC to the core". The religion of men.

Paul was determined only to know Christ and Him crucified. Too many are determined to know only their denomination and it propagated.

I would think he would be encouraged by DB's "letter" that seems to be making its rounds in districts under each districts superintendants sig where they talk about enforcing the UPC distinctives and ask ministers who won't do that to leave.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I think it's because he's depressed. You see, Keyes is such a GREAT best buddy of Kenneth Haney's. They've been super-best buddies for so, so, so long that I think Keyes is just depressed that his super-best-lifelong-buddy is no longer the General Superintendent. This undoubtedly is the reason he quit. He's just missing his super-duper-extra-special best friend.

Oh goodness no. He and KH play racquetball together, golf, bowling, own a time-share together, take family vacations together, trade sermon notes, talk at Starbuck's all the time, occasionally rent movies and watch them together, and are inseparable on holidays.

You evidently have inside information.

My point of reference is from back in the day when NJW was my pastor...they were tight then.

If you haven't detected the Hoover Dam-sized sarcasm by now, you just might be hopeless!

Guess I'm hopeless...

I figured the shared sermon notes was a bit over the top, but I do know that even NJW plays golf...as for bowling and the rest, I have no idea what KH believes or doesn't believe in.
