Then just tell of your knowledge. There was no need at all to bring race into the picture. It isn't a black issue. Never was, never will be. The problem is more significant in white circles so the fact that you know black preachers who do this adds nothing to this conversation.

As Stew said, if one says these kinds of things in circles of people of African descent, one could damages one's reputation. I know you're not interested in a single ounce of my advice, but I wish you consider not saying things like you occasionally day. You just may alienate a very important audience.

Secondly, YOU'RE to one who highlighted the race issue over and over and over by blowing a gasket when it, IMO, was unwarranted.

Now MOW, this is just simply not true. We can talk calmly about all this but this is just not an accurate statement. Race was NEVER a part of this discussion until you brought it up. Yes, I blew a gasket, as well I should have, but please don't say I'm the one who highlighted it. That's not fair, nor is it true. Last post of page 7, post #70. The post you wrote was the first mention of race. I did NOT bring it up.

You get the award for making it a race issue when the discussion would probably have simply gone on about the topic of this thread as it was intended. Well done!

You're welcome to view me however you'd like. But I will protest anyone who attempts to make statements that paint any particular race in a bad light, whether the statements are intentional or not. I always will. My "Beam"? I'm terribly flawed and would never pretend I'm not.

But that's just my opinion and I could be dead wrong and I accept that.

I'd still like to see you respond to the others who have spoken out on this subject, and not just me. I may be the loudest, but there are several other great points that have been raised, particularly, by Stew.
