Did you consider how many scriptures Jesus says "The Kingdom of heaven is like....."
why didn't he give equal time to what the "kingdom of hell is like...."

The story of the Ten Bridesmaids tells a story of what happens if you don't have oil in your lamp...the marriage feast doors were shut on them...again, they missed out on heaven....the focus is on what to do to get to heaven...that is, be prepared and stay awake.

Maybe, because He knows nothing of the traditional definition of hell?

I have enjoyed your posts, I agree that the Gospel is truly "Good News".
Now it is off to bed, goodnight!

I am glad you did! And good night to you! Yeah, isn't that wacky...to say, "I have Good News to share with you...you are going to burn in hell if you don't stop doing what you are doing"
No, the Good News is that Jesus provides a way to eternal life, now, let me tell you everything you need to know about entering heaven....and let me tell you what awaits if you do not believe this and turn away from your sinful lifestyle.

Used to be their material had no copyrights otherwise I would burn you all copies of the DVDs...originally it was the first 4 DVDs which is 8 episodes altogether.
I think every OP should get them and go through them and learn to use the law to bring out the knowledge of sin so we can point them to repentance and acts 2:38
Our problem is we just try to convince everyone of our view of baptism and receiving the Holy Ghost and this is usually towards people in other churches when there are tons of unchurched folks out there that need to repent and realize that right now, despite being good, they still need to be saved

Philippians 3:12-14 "Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

You seem to be confusing something YOU need from what we are talking about....sinners and TRUE conversion. Are you a sinner?
See the whole thing is, when you tell someone WHY they need Jesus...because they are sinners on their way to hell, they will be GRATEFUL for what Jesus did and won't need hell as an incentive. But again, the issue here is really about the real way to convert someone and false conversion...not what to do now that they are converted

Sounds like he is presenting heaven, not saying "look out, fire"
They ultimately get you to same place (running from hell or turning toward God) but with totally different perspective and focus...
|
He is saying REPENT...in other places he says "lest a worse thing happen to you"....
BTW the whole point of thewayofthemaster thing is personal evangelism and how did Jesus do it....no he did not always say HELL HELL, but he never just told people that you have a God shaped whole in your heart that only HE can fill. He never told them that God wants to improve their standard of living....Jesus addressed SIN in the lives of people
