Well,...I have no idea how it is now (haven't been in Texas for several decades now). But Life Tabernacle had some really "hard" standards, that's for sure. In the late 60's I put some flower stickers on the back of my dark red '66 Mustang. Bro. Kilgore saw it out in the parking lot, and really gave me a "scalding" for trying to look like the hippies. I didn't know much about the hippies, but I just liked flowers. Had to strip 'em off. Your hair had to be up and perfect (for the sisters) and the hemlines and sleeves had to be just right. And you had better for SURE never miss a service,...nooosireeeee! I had very recently looked at their current website for the church,...and definitely got the impression that it was different than when I remembered it. Yeah,..Jimbo was just a little shirt-tailed kid when I knew him.
