WOW.... What on earth was included with the creamtion for $7000. Was that the service, the plot and everything?
We used to have funerals at the church. I sang at one a little over a week ago.
I don't care for funeral home funerals. Having it at the church is what i am more accustomed to.

I see nothing wrong with cremation. I don't think I've ever seen the subject addressed negatively in Scripture, which would lead me to believe that God doesn't care either.
However, I have to say this - many times the family and friends of someone need to have a chance to 'view' the body one last time. It kind of makes it feel real. So while I would choose cremation, I would also allow for at least a little bit of visitation time for the loved ones left behind.

I am very opposed to it - on a personal level.
I prefer a simple pine box - in keeping with my Old Order Mennonite tradition.

WOOOO!
In Canada, you can get cremated for under $1,000.
They will even allow you to come into the Crematorium and watch it be loaded into the Retort.
Some religions even require one to be present and have the family push the button to start the process (Sikhs).
The major one for Vancouver is about a mile from where I live.

Yep... I am all for the pine box.
That is about as close to the natural process as one is going to get these days.
I have always found the whole burial in a cemetery thing to be a little mind boggling.
If they bury everybody and then keep them in a cemetery and that person ALWAYS takes up that space... won't we eventually run out of room for the living?

No. Civilizations come and go.

It start at a 1,000 degrees, than increases to 1,500 for an hour, with another burn at about 1,200 for the second hour for the average man.
There are scrubbers on the vents to cut the smell.
