Stop it with this "slippery slope" stuff. Either something is right or it's wrong. If something is not the "Complete gospel", as you put it, then it's a damnable heresy, right? If it's anything short of what we need for redemption, it's not truth, correct? If DA's "Greasy Grace" isn't everything, and he's presenting it as everything, then it's a damnable heresy.
So stop playing both sides of the fence and say it like it is.

It's those who are quick to make qualifications and put an astricks around grace that concern me. They confuse discipleship and sanctification with Gods work in salvation.
I've learned that true believing isn't cognitive reasoning but Spirit directed, heart level regeneration. Literal new birth. Believing is so discounted by works-obsessed Christians.

AMEN!!! How did the DADT thread flip to this?
But I love it!
I read the first ten verses of Ephesians 2 last Sunday, commenting along the way, of course, and when I read those words in verse 8, "God saved you by His special favor when you believed", I said, "If anyone EVER tries to add anything to this, do not listen to what they have to say."
No asterisks allowed!

Exactly! I am starting to like this thread!

Well, I can only give you my word that I'm not playing a game and that I am not a regular posting under another name. I know that probably doesn't mean much.

Many here are suspicious, but I imagine your word is good enough for Jeffrey. It works for me.

Suspicious? LOL! I guess so! I hope no one reads stuff on here and makes real life decisions based on the that alone.
Enter Dr Vaughn.
With all due respect, the "word" of any (and especially anonymous) internet posters is not like a notarized or other sworn statement. I would caution anyone against taking what is read here at face value.
Debate, discuss, minister as you please but none should expect to be taken too seriously here if they are anonymous. That's just part of the territory.

His/her "Word" is good enough for me. Now if he/she asks for a thousand dollars to start a Mona Vie business with, that's another story.
But thanks for your advice. Here all this time I've been making ALL my major life decisions based on discussions I've had here on AFF. I'm so glad you told me that!

Sarcasm, of course, but, not what I said. Just that it's healthy to be suspicious in on-line relationship and interactions period.
Whether someone is asking for money, sex, time or is otherwise seeking to "effect" your thinking or theology it is good to keep things in perspective. What one reads here should never be placed on equal value with parents, elders or spiritual mentors you know and love.
Motive and intent are easily disguised from behind a keyboard. It has happened more than once, right here on AFF.

Who is Dr Vaugn? I guess I am supposed to recognize the name and understand the reference but I do not.

Sorry, I guess I assumed you knew being a lurker before posting and all. He was a scam artist that posed as a highly educated minister of the gospel. He feigned a serious illness etc. and was soon thereafter busted on criminal charges. I for one was totally snookered.
Say! You might just be him! He is likely due out on parole.
