Re: NOW, When Is Someone Saved?

I would submit that the vast majority of Oneness Pentecostals do not subscribe to the "three step" view as it is known. So if OP = apostolic, Jermyn you are welcome to remain "Apostolic".

Re: NOW, When Is Someone Saved?

Nearly thirty million OPs and perhaps ten or twenty percent view other Christians as substandard or lost.

Hoovie, I still think you're around a unique group of Pentecostals. I've been Pentecostal all of my life and 99% of the ones I've been around believe trinitarians are going to split hell wide open. Probably closer to 99.99%.

Yeah, I'm with you, AQP. I'm scratching my head over Hoovie's point of view.

What exactly does it accomplish for anyone's benefit to declare someone a heretic?
So is there no place for all the warnings about false teachers? Who are they? When does it apply?

I also only care what the Word says and I'm not overly interested in declaring any umbrella of anyone a heretic. Just having a conversation. I shared my take.

DM, the context of John 3:5 is throughout the Gospel of John. When people read into the text Luke's writing, we have problems. But when we let John speak for himself, and by his own Gospel letter it's not too difficult. The theme of John: Believing. The Spirit's work --- bringing up to faith in Him.

Regarding your scriptures on baptism, there's plenty that can be said for what that means -- all far short of baptismal regeneration. I do know, for sure, that to say someone has to speak in tongues to be saved is so far from the Text it's not even funny...

My days as an "Apostolic" are numbered-- if they haven't already expired.
So true, Jermyn. But you aren't ceasing to be Apostolic, you are being even more accurately Apostolic.

Absolutely. In one post, it's difficult to try and explain how it's all so connected, but to get out from under it and look back, it all becomes so clear. It's not just a little "Gospel semantic."
