hahaha, I remember going to Ranger Stadium, 8 months pregnant and miserable. No wonder I hate pro sports.

I also find it exciting when the pitcher gets a hit!! Even better, a home run!!
Mr. Smith mentioned the loss in 02. I'll never forget Oakland kicking the Giants to the curb in 89!! They swept the Giants, 4-0. UGH!!

Who was the best hitting pitcher of all time?

Good question. I believe it's Babe Ruth.

Overall, it's not even close. The Babe. But for everyone else, the Giants had several good ones, Mike Krukow, Don Robinson, and Rick Reuschel.

I'm not much of an American League fan, either. I think the pitcher should hit.

Are there any pitchers that can hit????

Absolutely there are. On the Giants right now, there is Madison Bumgarner and Matt Cain, both of which are good hitters. On the final day of the season when the Giants clinched the division title against the Padres, Jonathan Sanchez hit a two-run triple for the Giants first two runs of the game.
Rick Ankiel, former Cardinals pitcher, eventually became an outfielder and is now with the Braves.
The Giants TV broadcast team, Duane Kuiper and Mike Krukow are a perfect example. Krukow, a pitcher, hit 5 times as many lifetime homers as Kuiper, a second baseman and hit .314 in 1979 with the Cubs.
Livan Hernandez is another very good hitter and has hit over .300 several times.
So the answer is, "Yes."
