Re: NOW, When Is Someone Saved?
Another reason the arguments continue, nobody can keep it in context. I like the "you folks" part too, can you show me my take or my side of all of this ? I don't believe I have posted conservative or liberal and have been just as critical of both sides on many threads here once it all starts turning into a kindergarden class debate. However as soon as someone here becomes creditable in "rightly dividing the truth" then I may take either side seriously. Until then most of you are simply entertainment to make my work day go by faster.
Thank you, kind sir.

••No, it was just the only part I wanted to comment about.

Ok, in all seriousness, no goofy colors or anything else....there are those on both sides of the aisles that do their best to "rightly divide". In the middle of it all is a decent bit of hyperbole and rhetoric, but at the end of the day, we're left with some pretty decent information, points to ponder, and things to consider. Lives have been changed as a result of the theological discussions that have taken place on this forum and I appreciate that.
It's clear which side of the aisle I'm on and it's my opinion, and you're welcome to disagree, that many on the multi-stepper side of the fence have disappeared from the dialogue. It's my feeling they've done so because they're unable to defend their position past a certain point. I haven't seen any of the grace folks go, but I've seen many of the multi-stepper folks leave.
So I enjoy the discussion and I welcome more of it.

The Word says obedience is better than sacrifice. We're to "obey" the gospel, there must be something we actually have to do to obey.
If the Apostles thought it necessary to obey, if Jesus Himself obeyed and was baptized how can we possibly do anything less.
Jesus said those who believe and are baptized shall be saved.
He gave Peter the keys to the Kingdom, he preached the Gospel then when asked what to do about that he told them.
More examples follow in the Book of Acts and yet that doesn't seem to be enough....go figure.

Who did Jesus obey?

Jesus obeyed the Father
His obedience was done for us. The first Adam failed, the second Adam was obedient.

Where and when did the Father tell him to be baptized?

Re: NOW, When Is Someone Saved?
Jesus was baptized to fulfill all righteousness. What does that mean?

My point, in response to Sandie, is "can someone show me where Jesus being baptized was an act of obedience on His part. When and where was He told to be baptized?"
If it was a command, to Him, that had to be obeyed, what would have been the consequence if He had not obeyed?

The third Adam received the smack-down from the Moderators.

I did a bit of research and found this:
And this is the thing that thou shalt do unto them to hallow them, to minister unto me in the priest's office:...And Aaron and his sons thou shalt bring unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and shalt wash them with water. ( Ex. 29:1-4)
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Take the Levities from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them. And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them..., and so make themselves clean. ( Num. 8:5-7)
The purification of the priesthood, Jesus being the High Priest. ( Heb. 5 & 7)
