And this is the thing that thou shalt do unto them to hallow them, to minister unto me in the priest's office:...And Aaron and his sons thou shalt bring unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and shalt wash them with water. (Ex. 29:1-4)
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Take the Levities from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them. And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them..., and so make themselves clean. (Num. 8:5-7)
The purification of the priesthood, Jesus being the High Priest. (Heb. 5 & 7)
At the age of 30, Jusus was washed/baptized/sprinkled by a man from the priestly lineage but instead of an anointing of oil He received the anointing of what the oil represented --the Spirit of God. So in this way He was anointed "above His fellows" or in a greater way than the other (earthly) priests. Ref Hebrews 1:9. John loosed Jesus into the priesthood. Jesus took on the office of priesthood by washing and anointing.

I sat last night with a few new friends that have been coming to our church. We asked to hear their story, and so they told us. This cool, composed, professional man, began to sob like a baby as he began getting to "God moments" in his life. For example, the first time he came to Christ. Growing up around the church didn't matter, this was his moment. His life was radically changed. He came home, and like the many stories I've heard about Spirit baptism, the man's family asked him "something has happened to you, what is it?" He describes himself as radiating and how much it changed his world.
His faith was still immature, and though he avoided trouble, his faith didn't really go up a notch until at a TD Jakes conference. A month later, his father, who had recently come to know Jesus, talked about Christ for the first time to his boys on a long car drive. I watched tears run down his face as he told us his younger brother asked to receive Jesus and to give his life to him.
You can call faith and believing insignificant, and not emotional enough for you, but there's no doubt in my mind how powerful those moments are, and how active the Spirit is in that. Regenerated. Born again. Changed.
