Does anyone believe that the Apostolic church world will soon accept the "don't ask don't tell" philosophy?

Anyone care to guess how long it will be before the Apostolic church denominations will be debating ordaining homosexuals? Take a guess. I'll give it no more than 30 years. The decent into the abyss is rapidly accelerating.

JCM Choir and LWT

I am not really sure - I think it was the Summer of '74 but it could have been 75 or A Late as 76. The Church was the UPC in Dyersburg, TN. I was in revival at the Church of God of Prophecy in Trenton, TN and drove over for the Concert.
Their music was as close as you could get to "black" music that you could get without being black! I grew up in Memphis and was influenced by the Church of God in Christ and Madame Mattie Moss Clark - who gave us the CLARK SISTERS!

I can still remember walking in and being really shocked at how dressed up everyone was and how everyone in that choir looked exactly alike! It is still funny to me! I sat and tried to make out the differences in the girls in the choir! I was able to make out that one had blond hair and another brown, different colored hair - but the look was sooooooooooooo strange to me!

Bro. AB, it is always a blessing to see you around. Like you, I cried at the news of Bishop Patterson's death. I knew he had been battling cancer for a while, but I had prayed and hoped that he would beat it.

I know you pretty good as far as your taste of music is concerned. You have got to rent "Say Amen Somebody."

It is the story of some of the early black song writers and composers and singers. It contains a lot of the old, old black artists whose names slip my mind at the moment, but when you see the titles of the songs that they wrote, you will remember them.

It is more of a documentary with some of the old black artist that were still alive at the time. It is very moving. There was one scene in it where they were honoring an old black song writer, composer and singer who was way up in his 90s. The church in Chicago was completely decorated and consecrated for the service honoring him. All of the ladies had on white with white gloves. It was very moving to see them consecreate around the altar. As the music was playing and they were sining one of the songs that the old black man had composed way back in the 1920 or 30s, he comes slowly shuffling into the church with assistance.

Man, that was a powerful scene. In it, many of the old artists were interviewed. Some of the songs that they had written were sung.

It's powerful. I know that you would probably not return it to the video store...claiming that a flying saucer came down and a bad dog jumped out, attacked you and ate it.

AB, Those were the years that I attended JCM, and I remember our choir singing in Dyersburg! It was the summer of '75, and I played bass guitar on most of the songs!

I think I remember some weird guy in his twenties in the audience! J/K

LOL - I would have had to been the summer of '74 as I was in College in Cleveland, TN in Jan of 75 and in the summer - was in Cleveland, Ohio until Dec. 75 so - after much thinking - It must have been the Summer of 1974. SORRY - IT was not ME in the crowd in 75! LOL
