Your conclusion may be that simple but the solution or how to arrive at the solution certainly isn't that simple.

Yep, strongholds/addictions are not easy by human effort. I think first to overcome we must acknowledge something is sin and we need help.

Re: Pornagraphy and Disability

If it's a sin for someone that can physically have sex then it's wrong for someone that can't.

BTW essentially DM is arguing voyerism is ok in God's opinion

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

They're not easy by spiritual effort, either. The "magic wand" mentality of having hands laid on our head and everything being solved in an instant is a fantasy world. Breaking free of these strongholds requires time, great friends, confession circles, often counseling, teamwork, and Spiritual empowerment.

Knowing and experiencing the power of God, I disagee.

Oh ok, I guess I don't know, nor have experienced the "power of God." Whatever.

Wasn't implying that.

Why not? Can't God fully deliver us from anything? When did He lose His power?
Why will our words, our counseling, do something God can't? Hasn't He done it before, when hands were laid on people? When they were prayed for and delivered? He can't and doesn't do that? According to who? How does man break a stronghold? What power does any man have to do that? Where does the Spiritual empowerment come from? Men or God?

Yeah, I wonder how much counseling the man who was crazy that Jesus cast devils out needed? He sat next to Jesus clothed and in his right mind. What do we tell him , "we got a 12 step program for you"

Re: Pornagraphy and Disability

I am in no way against counseling or helping our brothers and sisters. We can learn a lot and do a lot for each other, but we are not the deliverer, God is. He does have the power whether some believe it or not. He hasn't changed. Yes, they might need us to talk to someone in the middle of the night? Who? I have been there, there's usually no one around. But God is!!!! When temptation tries to overcome us, we call on the name of Jesus don't we? Or do we call our friends?
