I remember some words I heard or read from a minister way back when about
John 11:44. Jesus had spoken the words, "Lazarus, come forth" and it is recorded that "he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes; and his face was bound about with a napkin." Then Jesus spoke to some there and said, "Loose him, and let him go." The preacher's comment was that when Lazarus walked out of that grave he had life but no liberty. The application was that he had passed from death to life but he was still bound by graveclothes and needed the help of others to unwrap those garments and remove the face napkin. Just passing from death to life was a miracle but he needed the help and support of others to transition into his new life.
