Gabe is the redeeming quality in the Swaggart clan, as far as I'm concerned. He has stayed in our home and been to eat with us (before he married Jill). He is a fine young man, but I truly wish he had gone somewhere else besides back home. JMHO.

I've only heard Jimmy Swaggart in person once. That was at the Tri County Assembly of God church in Fairfield, OH (just a few miles from where I live in Forest Park, OH). It was a big church and we were in the balcony as part of a standing room only crowd. He had preached in a stadium or convention center or something like that in Cincinnati the night before and several received the Holy Ghost Baptism.

One thing about Swaggart, the guy was an outstanding oratorial preacher. Whew!

After reading Spurgeon and listening to other great orators Swaggart is just a middle-of-the-road Pentecostal preacher.....
