Stuxnet
Has any of you been reading about this virus/worm? Im blown away by how sophisticated it is. Very intelligent programing. Kinda scary that someone or group could make something that intelligent

I use Linux,...so I don't have to worry so much about virus attacks (and other such). Unfortunately,...my grown daughter insists on just using windows. I have to go in to her computer and run all kinds of programs to clean out the malware, trojans, viruses, etc. etc. every other day it seems. If Linux ever starts to be a target of virus attacks,....I'll probably move on to one of the BSDs.

This worm infected Iran's Nuke facilities which are NOT connected to the internet. Presumably the infection copied itself onto thumb drives or laptops outside and went undetected. That is the genius. The worms intent was NOT to harm everyone's PC or make it a zombie for a DOS attack.
Instead its sole intent was to eventually make its way onto Iran's nuke computers and then cause their centrifuges to spin faster than intended and slow down, all without detection. The result was not destroyed centrifuges but centrifuges that just didn't work right. This went on for a year without detection. Absolutely amazing how it worked to copy itself to their computers and then sabotage for a year undetected

This worm was NOT done by any group of hackers, rather is was nation sponsored and quite ingenious.
