a) Temptation is not sin
b) we have power over the flesh
c) no temptation can overcome us
so that means we can walk in faith in harmony with Spirit and not sin. Thus we are considered "faithful" and "friends".
Now answer mine.

Actually, these were my questions:
Quote:
So, when you sin... do you believe you lose relationship with God at that moment?
How often do you think sin is in your heart? Once every hour? Once a day? Once a month? Once a year? How often do we fail to trust or believe something about God?
|
You are only tempted often, but are otherwise perfect? How many times a day do we fail to trust God? How often do we become anxious?
Our actions are not only condemned, in fact the Bible is pretty clear that God looks at the heart. If our heart is condemned, outside of the cross, we are also condemned.

Not always. In fact, Christ through me, has expressed itself in beautiful ways. But indeed, we are not yet complete.
But I'll just speak for myself. You speak for you.

Grace does not allow sin to not be judged and still go to heaven without repenting.

Ok, I read up to page 7 and it took that long for anyone to mention grace, which I believe should be the foundation and proof for MB's comments.
When I read the blog, it further strengthened in my mind the misunderstanding and denial and absolute terror of what the Grace of God really is among the OPs. In order to understand the blog relative to Grace, we must consider that we are Spiritually bankrupt...there is no good in us...the actions of the flesh will never be glorified. Historically the conservatives called this notion greasy grace. Now why would they do that? Why the scarlet letter? Why the attititude? Because they don't understand the Grace of God.
This is not from MB, it is propaganda, it is culture, it is the same thing that hundreds of ministers, especially in the UPC and AMF would be able to write and it is preached all over the nation every week.
The Apostolic church has a brutal misunderstanding of the Grace of God....I am convinced more than ever these days.

You are right.
The problem with failing to understand grace goes back to not understanding our own depravity. How sunk we are. How broken and lost. How ugly we are apart from the healing balm of the Cross.

so JEsus was tempted and it made him unperfect?

So you didn't anwer my points which was getting to the crux of the matter.
Did Abraham fail to trust God? We do not have the power to overcome? I gues we don't have power as the scripture says and still serve the flesh.

this is such a slide around it is amusing.
He does look at the heart.
We either respond to him in faith or not just like ABraham. If not we are not his friends.
In the end as I said. You basically come down to our heart is always condemend and the cross negates our continual failure.
The cross provided negation of a covenant by the death of the husbandman. It provided life through a resurrected body which we also hope to obtain. In responding to his commandments to the Word given as he leads and guides us by his Spirit. Faith is doing this not failing this. You have a failing faith that justifies. LOL

I don't believe in total depravity. I would also say you miss the meaning of the cross and the distinctions of the covenants.

Luke, respectfully, I'm feeling the slide around from you. You still won't answer my questions.
Let's break it down to just one:
So, when you sin... do you believe you lose relationship with God at that moment?

Of course
So please describe to me what effect the fall had on you and I. And as you look back at the Story, please explain why a Savior King finally had to come himself.
