Re: IBC Declined To Sing With Madonna/Super Bowl
My Madonna connection is that a few years ago a close relative was up to star in a proposed new ABC tv drama series produced by Madonna & Guy Ritchies Maverick productions.
After several flights to LA to audition for Maverick and ABC executives it came down between my relative and one other person for the role. The shows creator and producer chose my relative but Guy Ritchie chose the other person and it was his company so he won!
The show didn't get picked up by ABC as a series but it would have been $$$$ in the pocket and a lot of fun if it had happened.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Madonna is a show-woman, no doubt. I can appreciate "talent" in its various forms, but she is nothing to be admired, aspired to or emulated. To sing on the same stage as Madonna is nigh to an endorsement of her undulating, smutty performance and even smuttier lyrics and musical productions of the past.
KUDOS to IBC and Bro. Mooney for making a wise decision. There was nothing to be gained by performing with Madonna. Nothing. Other than money. And money is not important enough in the large scheme of things to be a determining factor.
Those who support the idea have confused the ability to be entertaining with some sort of admirable virtue, IMO.

LOL, Well, I guess I can add yet another voice to the "glad IBC didn't do it" crowd.

Re: IBC Declined To Sing With Madonna/Super Bowl
Anybody that would be FOR ANY Christian singing, dancing, backing up or whatever with MADONNA would need a check up from the neck up!
I applaud those in authority of IBC that said NO to this Wicked Cultic Idol Worshipping Sexually Crazed woman! God bless someone that has some backbone - You don't have to be APOSTOLIC or UPC to have some sense! I don't know ANY ONE that I network with or fellowship with that would have said Yes to Madonna!
I did not watch the game - I went to a UPC church (rare for me) Sunday night and heard the young preacher - dressed like a Philadelphia Lawyer - Preach AGAINST PROSPERITY! LOL I told him after church - "If you are going to preach so hard against Prosperity - you should do it in ragged blue jeans and an old soiled shirt!" He laughed and thanked me for my imput! ROFL!!!!!!!
I have been broke and I have been blessed and BLESSED is a whole lot better!

But... I have broke and blessed - in many, many ways at the same time.

I wasn't trying to start an argument - I have been blessed while being broke myself but on MY PART - It has been a LOT BETTER for me and my family and ministry and those that I am blessed to minister too be blessed financially! The more I am blessed - the more I can go to more nations and raise up Bible Schools, Children's Homes, Churches, Feeding Stations.....
I just think it is ridiculous to get up and preach AGAINST the blessings of the Lord and just GLORIFY poverty and depression, suffering, loneliness, despair like these are virtues!

Re: IBC Declined To Sing With Madonna/Super Bowl
I respect the stand that IBC(actually Pastor Mooney) took...but I wouldn’t have had a problem with them participating. I disagree with the notion that participation equals endorsement.

Okay, so Madonna should sing at GC. Participation does not mean endorsement.
