no... you don't deserve grace REACTIONLESS! God only gives grace to those who TURN and TRUST in the context of what his message is. You get grace BECAUSE OF YOUR RESPONSE. You cannot receive the provision of grace unless you respond properly to the message. You don't just simply receive grace.

The Bible says that " God resists the proud , but gives grace to the humble"
I guess that works, too. Requiring humility to receive grace, that is.

Furthermore, I'd like to know what you would have said to Jesus if you had been standing there when he spoke the words that are found in Mark 16:16. Burying the old man with Christ is ANYTHING but an attmpt to earn anything from God. By your definition then, repentance itself is " works based salvation".

Brother I have to be honest, I don't listen to preaching from Oneness Pentecost because I am biased (probably wrong for that) and have my own preconceived notions (probably wrong again). I think have listened to some TF Tenny lately but that has been about it.

Sure, no problem.
When the blood of the perfect Lamb was offered by the high priest on his behalf.

Abraham was not under out covenant but before the new birth. He was saved and received the promise because he fullfilled the calling God gave him to do. Which was his message for his time while still the same construct we all must realize. Trust unto OBEDIENCE of God's Word.
|
Adam, Abraham, David, Paul, Peter, you, me....we're all redeemed alike. By the blood of the Lamb of God. There aren't two redemption plans in the bible, one without the Lamb of God and the other with the Lamb of God, there's just one.

yeah but that is contextual on how one views the reality of that.
|
Do you believe you'll be singing the song of the redeemed of the blood of the Lamb? I know I will and I have all faith that Abraham will too.

At what point was he considered "just" to receive such offering on his behalf?

So to go to my point. Your view of atonement does not fit most people view of "GRACE." You believe in a different form of imputed righteousness. So when you talk about "WE" don't talk about GRACE. The issue is not with us but in what you are requesting is a impossiblity theologically. Two different paradigms.

I don't know about 'just', but I do know that he was redeemed by the blood of the Lamb without works. But if he was redeemed because of his works, I can't identify with of the good works of Abraham made him acceptable enough to be redeemed by the Lamb of God.

My view is very simple, Abraham was redeemed by the Lamb of God apart from any series of good works that he did. Abraham enjoyed the truth of scripture that by grace are you saved, not of works, least any man should boast.
The blood redeemed Abraham, not one single work that He did redeemed him.
