Wow, the article I read didn't say how many would be charged, only that charges were being filed. Three of the six officers were on bicycle patrol, so if they're being charged it means there's some kind of proof that the deadly injury happened at the site of the arrest.
In that case, I'd think it'd be hard to convince a jury that all the officers are responsible for a guy dying a week after the arrest. Especially if there was any surgery performed during the week-long hospital stay.

But from what I've read, he couldn't see Gray. Apparently these cages are closed to where suspects can't see each other. So how can he tell it was Gray doing it himself, versus Gray being attacked by someone?

The previously undisclosed stop also is very suspicious.

Were there cops riding in the van with him? This should be simple to know.

I don't know if there are or not. I would think there would be at least one sitting in the back in case something went wrong. But I don't know for sure.

“I hope that as we move forward with this case, everyone will respect due process and refrain from doing anything that will jeopardize out ability to seek justice,” she said.

According to multiple reports, the medical examiner found that the 25-year-old man’s head struck a bolt that jutted out in the back of the police van.
A law enforcement official told the Washington Post that this was not Gray’s only injury, and that his wounds were consistent with those generally seen in car crashes.

The Washington Post reported that the prisoner, who could not see Gray because they were separated by a metal partition, thought that the young man “was intentionally trying to injure himself” by “banging against the walls."

So it seems that the truth lies somewhere in the middle of all of our hypothesis's.

But Donta Allen, who identified himself as the man in the van with Gray, told WJZ-TV that the report is inaccurate and that he just heard “a little banging.”
“And they trying to make it seem like I told them that, I made it like Freddie Gray did that to hisself (sic),” Allen said to the station. “Why the f--- would he do that to hisself (sic)?”

Re: Where's The Disgust About Baltimore?
A report from the Carroll County, Md., Sheriff’s Office, obtained by The Associated Press, indicates that one of the officers suspended following Gray’s death has had his mental stability called into question.

Baltimore residents had to pretty much threaten the destruction of the city and capture international media attention before anyone did anything. A week of peaceful protests resulted in almost zero coverage and almost no support from the outside community. This is a lesson we won't forget.

This person has a point. MLK was right. Riots are the voice of the voiceless.

I disagree. The investigation would have gone on regardless. All these rioters did was stir up resentment against them from everyone who watched them destroy buildings, cars, etc.

I wonder if they also consider flash mob attacks on white people to be the voice of the voiceless. I don't MLK would have thought so.

I read that, too. Also read an allegation that he changed his story because he was afraid he would be attacked or killed for suggesting Gray could have done this to himself.
