Do you applaud him for the following?
Right after I moved to Nashville in 1999 Michael English was working his way back to credibility in gospel music.
He had hooked in with the TBN crowd and they were promoting him heavily. In addition to guesting a lot on TBN he was given his own show or was at least featured on a series (I forget which exactly).
With all of this publicity he was primed for his "second chance". He recorded a new CD and just before it was to come out and while he still appearing on TBN as this repented, forgiven saint who had fallen but now had made things right he was arrested by the Nashville police for illegal possession of precription drugs.
The police raided the apartment that news reports said he SHARED with his girlfriend and found something like 400 prescription drugs he was using and abusing with no prescriptions (the number may be wrong I am going from my memory of 8 years or so ago but it was an amazingly large number).
It amazes me that when something like this happens after a person has already done a doozy like committing adultery the TBN crowd get mad at you for suggesting perhaps you don't continue to have faith in the person.

Just go ahead and rub it in that Mrs. CC1 and myself didn't rate an invite to the Pianoman mansion for the July 4th shindig.
I see that Dan Scott and Ken Abraham were on the list so apparently I have a ways to go to get on that list!

It was a great performance, for sure, as the soloist is extremely talented. But, spiritually, it was totally and completely LAME!

Are you smoking dope??????
Spiritually lame!!!!!!!!!!?????????
Are you referring to the choir as well?????????????????
IT must be lonely in your little world.
If you can watch that and not feel the anointing fall on that choir as it sings and the hands go up and the worship begins....and feel nothing and call it lame...then you need to go find a prayer room.....quick!!!!!!

No CC...I dont applaud him for that.........
Brett Favre was once addicted to pain killers...but he is still my sports hero!
"Rejoice not against me O my enemy, for WHEN I fall, I shall arise"
WHEN...not IF!
I do understand what you are saying...but this was recorded in January last year....if he is back on track...I celebrate with him on that premise.
Lord knows I have had and needed more than one or two or three fresh starts in my life spiritually.

Oh, I didn't say I felt nothing; if you read my post, I mentioned that emotional feeling that comes from well performed music (as a musician and singer, I am quite familiar with it). Unfortunately, you call that 'anointing'. That's too bad.

Like you I pray he really means it this time. However I don't have to listen to him, watch him, or buy his CD's and that is what I choose to do. I would rather spend my time supporting artists with integrity (or at least have not had multiple proven huge moral failures).
I would be nice to him in person and happily sit next to him in church worshipping God. I just am no longer a fan and won't support his career.

Well, like I said: seeing as you define 'anointing' as an emotional 'feeling', then, by your definition, they were 'anointed'. However, if one were to take the time to delve into the scripture, one would discover that true anointing is not associated with a 'feeling'. Ah, but who has the time for scripture searching? There's too much work to do, trying to get on television, trying to find ways to fit in with unsaved folks who declare themselves saved, and bashing and smashing anybody who might dare have the nerve to say, "Wasn't no Holy Ghost anywhere to be found in that mess."
