The praise songs wear out really fast, as they are the same four lines over and over. You can't even add good music to them... just chords... bam bam bam bam....
We had a song leader many years ago who loved the old hymn O I Want to See Him. So we sang it every single service - Sunday morning, Sunday night, Wednesday night Bible Study and Friday night youth Service - for over a year solid!!! Seriously!!
For a long, long time, I could not stomach that song. Now (20 years later) when we sing it occasionally (thank the Lord it's ONLY occasionally) I never think about the Lord. My mind immediately drifts off to the person who loved that song so much he made us sing it to death.
LET'S ALL TURN TO PAGE 2........
AS I JOURNEY THROUGH THE LAND, SINGING AS I GO......
As you can see it was impressed on my memory too!!!!
On I Am a Friend of God in particular, I heard that totally ripped to shreds by people's opinions of it and how much they disliked it on forums in the past kinda when it first started catching on I guess, and that jaded me to it ever since, everytime I hear it I cringe and think about everybody talking about how much they couldn't stand it. lol

Shortly followed by page 86 - Heaven's Jubilee! (Or page 174, Just A Little Talk With Jesus) ...is that 172?
