I think there are two veins to this discussion. Domineering/Bossy Women and Strong/Perservering Women.

A strong/perservering woman is a good thing!

Yup! Like Garrison Keillor says; Where all the women are strong, the men are good looking, and the children are above average.

And it takes a strong mature man to discern the difference!
I am standing next to one in my avatar! Two are better than one!
The Word of God says so!

What has made the difference in the attitudes? Could it be the way the men are now?

I wished I could answer your question More intelligently, but this is what come to mind, Matt, 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! I believe the woman has a mother instinct and when it comes to the House of worship their mother instinct cries out from the heart to make sure all things are in order, seeing that the Children of the Lord are being fed spiritual food. The men of the House hold of God are more ritualistic and making sure the scriptures are outlined for a sermon, and their mind is on doctrinal order more than helter shelter same old same O. The man of God is supposed to be the head, and that responsibility rest on his shoulders. Without the women the house would crumble. They are the backbone of the flock.

The Church I was raised in was Apostolic Holiness. In Jonesville Louisiana. Every Church service would have a testimony of the saints . I want you to know that the testimony of the Women were longer and out weight the pastor's sermon in many occasions.

NASB...

Let our sons in their youth be as grown-up plants, And our daughters as corner pillars fashioned as for a palace;
GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995)
May our sons be like full-grown, young plants. May our daughters be like stately columns that adorn the corners of a palace.

King James Bible
That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:

American King James Version
That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:

American Standard Version
When our sons shall be as plants grown up in their youth, And our daughters as corner-stones hewn after the fashion of a palace;

Bible in Basic English
Our sons are like tall young plants; and our daughters like the shining stones of a king's house;

Douay-Rheims Bible
Whose sons are as new plants in their youth: Their daughters decked out, adorned round about after the similitude of a temple:

Darby Bible Translation
That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; our daughters as corner-columns, sculptured after the fashion of a palace:

English Revised Version
When our sons shall be as plants grown up in their youth; and our daughters as corner stones hewn after the fashion of a palace;

Webster's Bible Translation
That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:

World English Bible
Then our sons will be like well-nurtured plants, our daughters like pillars carved to adorn a palace.

Young's Literal Translation
Because our sons are as plants, Becoming great in their youth, Our daughters as hewn stones, Polished -- the likeness of a palace,

We need strong women...there is a difference in a strong woman and a forward woman...

It's either that or ruin his ministry and reputation and some women can and will do it
Thank you StMark!

Thank you for getting this thread back on track!

Have you ever noticed that any time this subject is brought up, the bossy old nags always say they are "that way" because men are weak?
