POINT TO THE LAW THAT SAYS DON'T HEAL ON THE SABBATH PLEASE!

Again it is a reference to the oral law or traditions of the elders that they held as not to be broken. Jesus never BROKE a law of God. Then God is contrary to himself and is a liar as he does not change.

You really need to do your study on this as you clearly know little about Rabbinic teaching of the time and how Jesus constantly ripped the pharisees for making God's law none effect due to there traditions "oral law"! Casting on the people more than what God had given. Thus the leaven ofthe pharisees.

He told the man to take up his bed a direct violation of the law not to carry a burden on the Sabbath.

Not only that I have already explained those are the inspired words of God not the recording of what the Jews thought. In the same sentence he says Jesus made himself equal with God was that wrong too?

Jesus specifically said Moses allowed divorce because of the hardness of their heart. To use one of the arguments you used in this thread: Go argue with the Bible.

But who changed what? Did Moses change that which was from the beginning or did God? sheeesh (Which actually shows much of the law was passed down before Moses!) Again Jesus points out HIS WILL not the will of the people or Moses and shows even more clearly God does not change!

Inspired? God inspired the law but Moses due to the people inspired that which was not God's will from the beginning.

Luke, lets' try not to knock one another's knowledge of the Word. That's how arguments get started, and I don't mean the good kind. Take a deep breath, Brother.

That Moses!! Perverting God's law!!! I'm just going to chuck the whole Mosaic law because he obviously couldn't be trusted with it.

I think Baron and Rico are just enjoying showing off their vast knowledge of scripture....

Again no! He was God in flesh. GOD does not contradict his own laws. The LAWS of God are forever at work it showed who he was! As God was at work therefore I work! They are miss applying the LAW to him. His telling a man to carry up his bed was a sign of his Lordship! Also the Sabbath is a SIGN of the covenant as is circumcision. These in themselves are not moral or character aspects of God. Thus can change form and did in the NC. Jesus did not break God's character as he was following and doing what God led him to do thus he could not break GOD'S LAW as he was God himself. Just as we will do as the Spirit leads us which is to fulfill law/God's will. That they may be one as though are in me and I in thee.

Again, I did not say ALL the law transferred to the New COVENANT but that to do that which is right to God and man and his eviroment will be done thus fullfill.

Mar 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
Mar 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Mar 12:31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Whenever I encounter this law/grace argument I always think of this scripture:

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

Tts 2:11For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

GRACE IS NOT ABSENCE OF LAW! And it seems to me that many who make this argument that we are not under the law, do so to make allowence for themselves to practice their own wicked lusts.

EXAMPLE: Remember Dr. Gene Scott --now deceased. Even Oral Roberts fired him from being a professor of religion at ORU and had security throw him off the campus. Dr. Scott later had a TV show in which he would sit with a cigar and teach our "righteousness" in Christ.
His daughter has taken over his so-called "ministry."
It's actually Scott's widow, but who cares. Didn't know his origins at OR. Thanks for that tidbit.

If you cut thru all the superfluous stuff, the foundational truth is: No matter how many or how few, remnants of the Old Covenant, that anyone tries to bring over into the New Covenant, NOONE is going to be able to keep them. You end up with the New Covenant, being no better than the Old one. Same problem that Israel had.

If we are not made righteous; solely, by believing that what Jesus did made us righteous, then Jesus didn't do a very good job of saving us.
