Did they require their men to wear white shirts to the wrist, no.

BUT, for all purposes, this IS a conservative UPC church.

I will confess Tennesee has always been a very liberal district in the UPC all the way back to Gurley & Greer and Memphis in particular. But I am sorry as a conservative we never considered this church a conservative church. I am not saying that is bad and they are not good people I doubt if TB would have said be was a con.

I'm just talking about the "list" of standards that ultra conservatives have generated.....most of which are just goofier than a three dollar bill.

Like a UPC preacher told me one time "It's not the written rules that get you, but the unwritten ones!"

I have no need to seek the testimonies of others, your reputation precedes you. I don't say that to offend you, but as of a matter of fact, you have planted your stake in the ground and you stand by it.

As for me and my household we do our best to live a life pleasing to God. In deeds, words and appearances. Without going from one extreme to the other.

"Some rumors are entirely true. Others contain grains of truth; still others contain none at all. Plausible or implausible, truthful or false, rumors circulate because people are trying to get to the bottom of a matter. The acceptance or rejection of a given rumor in a given time or place depends on its ability to satisfy this need to understand."

You gotta understand, when Epley says conservative, in his mind it means one who follows ALL the whack job rules and regs that have been conceived in the minds of men who quite mistakenly think they have the mind of God.

When your mind is given over to this delusion, you become unable to reason, unable to see the core doctrines of the bible.

Sadly, many who have carried this brand of "ultra legalistic conservitiveitus"
may well be as lost as two boys kissing.
