The seven or eight satellite channels is what God told him to do more than a dozen years ago. Since then has been the movie making directive and one from God to make a ministers retreat.
I remember reading an article or something by him about ten years ago about how God was giving them some prime property somewhere in CA for this luxury ministers retreat / conference center. I never heard how that turned out but I have a good idea!

If I was your pastor and couldn't abide by the requirements of the organization I'd find another organization to join. Don't get me wrong, I don't oppose TV and I do attend UPCI churches but I'm no longer licensed with them.
Ummm...requirements are broken all the time but for some reason TV gets the most attention. If we told every licensed minister/pastor to leave that broke a requirement, there would be no org.

How does RG come across in this doc? I have never had the pleasure of meeting him. The closest I got was about a dozen years ago I was eating lunch with Paul Mooney and Tim Pedigo during an NRB convention somewhere and Pastor Mooney noticed RG was at the back of the restaurant already seated and he went back to say hello. I think this was the NRB where RG had a booth and was promoting his WYSISYG book / dream.
I was able to spend quite a bit of time with him when I was younger. He came across as really driven and innovative back then with a real heart for people and missions. I pray for him now and pray that he and his family end up well. I have been following his various interests now for years, well before this documentary. I must say that he does seem to be a bit different now than when I was with him.

There are a few folks in out lives that no matter what road they go down they will always have a special place in our hearts and lives.
It is good to hear that RG has a heart for people. I had a feeling there had to be some positive things about him for folks to stick with him through so many half baked schemes. At least the nutty things he does are not to enrich himself.
